This session will examine a number of recent developments affecting international health programs throughout the world. Topics explored include the correlation between HIV/AIDS and food insecurity; the use of technology, such as national databases, in health programs; and the effect of free trade and donor programs on the supply of medicine throughout the world. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to: 1) understand how access to food is affected by HIV/AIDS; 2) recognize the advantages of an integrated population health database and how it may be used; 3) evaluate the institutional impact of a drug donation program; 4) articulate the impact of free trade agreements on access to essential medicines. | |||
