Diabetes Epidemiology
In this session, the learner will learn about the impact of obesity and behavioral characteristics on diabetes.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) will be able to: 1. Calculate the incidence rate of type 1 diabetes and hospitalization rates among children in Newfoundland and Labrador 2. Discuss the potential importance for the dopamine receptor DRD2, with regard to obesity and compliance to a dietary recommendation. 3. Identify demographic and behavioral characteristics associated with obesity.
