Maternal, Infant and Child Health Epidemiology: Poster Session
In this session the learner will hear about the epidemiology of maternal, infant and child health, including multiple case-control studies among pregnant women, and population-based studies of disorders of pregnancy, among other studies of maternal and child health.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Discuss that fetal sex may provide clues to understanding of the causes of preterm birth, low birth weight, and perinatal morbidity and mortality 2. Discuss public health implications of the observed infant growth patterns linked to the fetal origins of adult disease hypothesis 3. Study the attributes and outcome among anemic and non-anemic pregnant women 4. Describe the importance of a comprehensive assessment of determinants and health, social, and educational outcomes. 5. Identify risk factors of RSV-associated infant hospitalizations in California 6. Identify the potential impact on prematurity-related morbidities and hospital costs. 7. List three methods for maternal mortality case ascertainment 8. Describe the trend of race/ethnic disparity in maternal hypertensions in the past decade, and identify at risk subgroups in New York State. 9. Describe the secular trend of childhood asthma prevalence in the United States over time
