This session acknowledges that ending family violence requires interventions and strategies that include the community. To this end, the presentations highlighted underscore the unique community issues present in the development and of effective community-based strategies. It also explores with interested attendees how targeted interventions can be used to examine the multi-faceted issues present in any community-based approach that seeks to address and prevent family violence.
Session Objectives: 1. Describe community-based approaches to address family violence. 2. Identify unique challenges and successes in developing community-based family violence prevention activities. 3. Evaluate the effectiveness of community-based strategies in addressing family violence.
