This session will feature six talks focused on The Healthy Eating, Active Communities program and it’s approach to addressing the current epidemic of childhood obesity.
Session Objectives: • Articulate the need for programs that involve multiple ‘sectors’ within which communities should work to address childhood obesity • Understand the benefits of working with a neighborhood school • Describe an approach to participatory assessment • Describe the importance of decision-making champions • Explain a strategy for engaging youth in advocacy
