Changes in population profile, disease patterns, and social environment make predictions of health care need and proper work force in a society difficult. Unmet dental care need of large segment of population and oral health diparities still remain a publich health challenge. Through outstanding presentations and following discussions, this session will discuss and address issues relevant to current and future dental workforce to provider optimal dental care to the population including underserved population groups.
Session Objectives: Articulate solutions to ameliorate workforce and access to care issues; Understand the factors that influence dental and medical providers' willingness to provide care; Discuss issues and approaches to dental care workforce planning models.
