Discussion of pertinent issues of concern will shed light for purposes of future research and program planning for the Asian and Pacific Islander lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender population in the United States.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to: (1) Describe health disparities facing Asian and Pacific Islander men who have sex with men (MSM); (2) Name the health challenges faced by transgender Asian Americans and Pacific Islander, as well as potential programmatic and policy interventions to address these challenges; (3) Describe the composition of Asian same-sex households in the United States as well as implications with respect to public health; and (4) Specify the role of family and familial relationships with regard to HIV risk and HIV interventions among Asian Men who have Sex with Men (MSM).
