Panelists in this session will critically examine issues of social justice, public health, and both resistance to and cooptation by efforts to minimize the political issues at stake, and do so in relation to the 3 foci of our Spirit of 1848 Caucus: the social history of public health, the politics of public health data, and progressive pedagogy for public health.
Session Objectives: Participants who attend this session will be able to:
1)Critically examine issues of social justice and public health in relation to the social history of public health
2)Critically examine issues of social justice and public health in relation to the politics of public health data
3)Critically examine issues of social justice and public health in relation to progressive pedagogy for public health
