2050.0 Asian & Pacific Islander Disparities in Infectious/Communicable DiseaseSunday, November 7, 2010: 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Poster
Infectious and communicable diseases remain a large concern for Asian and Pacific Islander communities in the United States. Given the emergence of new viruses and heightened resistance of existing infections to therapies, comprehensive knowledge of and targeted approaches toward disparities among Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States must continued to be explored and implemented. Such activities will be elucidated in this session.
Session Objectives: At the end of the session, participants will be able to: (1) Identify at least two reasons why API communities are at high risk for Hepatitis B infection; and (2) Understand the socio-cultural factors related to Hepatitis B screening for APIs.
