4202.0 Avedis Donabedian Award in Quality

This session will award the 11th annual Avedis Donnabedian award to Dr. Hoangmai Pham. It will feature the awardee address by Dr. Pham addressing advances and insights in relation to quality and the movement toward primary care medical homes. Dr. David Magid will give a second quality-related presentation on the subject of pragmatic clincal research.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss accomplishments of Dr. Hoangmai Pham in improving quality based on population based research to understand primary care health care delivery 2. Discuss the ways processes and outcomes can be better linked and understood by using large collaborative research networks 3. Analyze findings from a series of recent cardiovascular database studies demonstrating the implications of recent studies on blood pressure, myocardial infarction and other important public health diseases.
