This session focuses on disease management. A variety of methodologies will be presented. The first will look at disease management by investigating the environment, cultural practices and organization of the community. Two others will present research on the PHN, one will discuss the use of supportive counseling with mothers' diagnosed with postpartal depression, while the other will investigate patient's perceptions of nursing care on the patient's compliance and treatment. While another will discuss the use of telephonic methods for assisting with behavioral change and risk management.
Session Objectives: 1. Describe the association of environment, culture, and organization and disease management. 2. Discuss the impact of nursing care and patient communication on chronic disease management. 3. Evaluate the use of telephonic communication to support behavioral change for chronic disease management.
