America’s labor unions have taken an active role in supporting the passage and implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). Unions represent hundreds of thousands of workers who deliver health care every day. The labor movement believes that health care is a basic human right and has worked for more than a century to improve the quality, access, and affordability of health care for all.
Session Objectives: Describe how unions are increasing access to health care.
Discuss how unions are supporting the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
