Advocacy for leaders
Sunday, November 3, 2013: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Oral
This training will feature interactive panels including APHA staff-led presentations about the advocacy tools and resources available to APHA members; APHA member and Affiliate leaders will share their advocacy success stories; advocacy experts will speak about best practices and strategy; and legislative staff will provide tips for policy-maker communication and advocacy. This is an excellent opportunity for APHA member and Affiliate leaders to sharpen their advocacy skills and become stronger public health advocates. Trained leaders will be able to return to their Sections and Affiliates with the resolve and ability to inspire and train others to be effective public health advocates.
Session Objectives: Identify the advocacy and policy tools and resources available through APHA and partner organizations.
