Jayfus T. Doswell, PhD , Juxtopia, LLC, Baltimore, MD
Dr. Jayfus T. Doswell will discuss how researchers designed an affordable and easily accessible open-source wearable telehealth platform, Juxtopia® Imhotep (JI) Open-Wear.  From the JI Open-Wear platform, wearable device hardware and software systems may be created to identify and monitor various health conditions (i.e., illness, injury, and disease) that adversely impact lower income and underserved and disadvantaged populations.   Dr. Doswell will describe the details of the JI Open-Wear platform and provide specific cases of wearable device systems derived from the platform and how these systems decrease health disparities.

Learning Areas:

Communication and informatics

Learning Objectives:
Describe how to use the JI Open-Wear platform to create innovative wearable telehealth systems. Describe the benefits of how the JI Open-Wear platform may lower consumer telehealth device costs and improve wearable device accessibility for all populations.
