Mental health is an essential component of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and for achieving health equity.  Likewise is understanding cultural differences in achieving accountability as required by the ACA.  This session will highlight the multiple dimensions of accountability in the ACA.

Describe the critical role for mental health in achieving health equity, using the Native American youth workshop as an example Explain the need to hear authentic voices through a health equity lens in the implementation of the ACA

I Co-authored the report “Enhancing the Delivery of Health Care: Eliminating Health Disparities through a Culturally & Linguistically Centered Integrated Health Care Approach.” I was principal investigator on the research that the report was based upon funded by the US DHHS’ Office of Minority Health and the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health.
