Mr. Darius McDaniels will present results from a community needs analysis administered to a Baltimore, Maryland population. The population was surveyed to obtain information ranging from desired healthcare locations and insurance to remote healthcare monitoring and healthcare prevention interventions to reduce health disparities.  Mr. McDaniels will discuss the innovative surveying approach and techniques, which secured community trust and garnered a comprehensive dataset that lead to the development of the Juxtopia® Imhotep Open-Wear Platform.

Describe the healthcare needs of an urban minority community with high rates of health disparities. Discuss culturally competent surveying techniques in similar communities. Discuss a similar needs analysis approach for developing health informatics and Information Technology (HIIT) interventions for use by populations outside traditional health care organizations.
