Women's health across the lifespan

This session will highlight the challenges women face when navigating their health and the policies that focus on specific programs addressing chronic disease and women's special health needs. This session will also exam the role of federal and state policies that can have an impact on local public health interventions and strategies (for example, programs in maternal mortality, food security, access to quality medical care, HIV/AIDS prevention intervention, and addictions treatment),and ways to effect change.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss and identify structural and systemic challenges women face throughout their life span that can lead to chronic disease.
2. Discuss and identify prevention intervention strategies that are promising in making a difference in women’s health.
