This session will highlight presentations which discuss the realtionship between human rights and healthography. Specific examples of how social inequities are more prevalent in low economic communities when compared to communities which reside in affluent neighborhoods will be discussed.A comparison of Women and children living in economically disadvantaged societies and who have been discriminated against and do not enjoy the same rights as their counterparts who live in more affluent communities will be discussed. The presentations will be followed by a discussion as to how these inequities can be reduced and what needs to be done by public health profesionals to even the playing field of social justice , irrespective of where people reside.
Session Objectives: Discuss the link between the geographic location where people live and their human rights and health status.
Explain the link between social equity, discrimination and places of residence
