Contemporary issues in health education standards and practice: A review of the landscape in the 21st century

Brief abstracts for this session are provided for each individual presentation. Learning Objectives: At the end of the session, participants will be able to: 1) List at least 3 major accomplishments of health education organizations on behalf of the health education profession accomplished since the meeting "Health Education in the 21st Century" in 1995. 2) Identify at least 5 continuing education needs of the currently employed public health education workforce. 3) Describe the Competency Update Project as it relates to verification of the entry-level and graduate-level competencies in health education. 4) Discuss a study underway by SOPHE to assess the impact of health education credentialing on individuals, organizations, and society at large
