Innovative leaders based in the San Francisco Bay Area will describe their groundbreaking work to overcome health inequities. These projects mobilize low-income communities of color and women and discover new ways for accessing health services coverage and care. Dr. Alex Briscoe, Director of the Alameda County Health Care System; Tangerine Brigham, Director of Healthy San Francisco; and Trust Women Week's co-founder Dr. Sophia Yen will address issues of national significance through local experiences.
Session Objectives: Identify a unique feature of each project.
Describe education and mobilization in low-income communities of color.
Explain the relations of the issues confronted in the San Francisco Bay area to national ones.
